A Day in Pictures: Birthday Edition

It was my birthday quite recently, and here's how I spent it:

I started off celebrating on the weekend (because let's face it most people are free on weekends). As I've different groups of friends and am not a fan of huge parties, I usually go for something relaxing and small over a day or two between the groups.

So this is how it went..

    Saturday

My dear friends and I began with having a wonderfully tantalising lunch at Haché in Camden Town.

These burgers were amazing. They really are experts.

Which was then swiftly followed by drinks at a pub overlooking the Camden Canals.

Rekordelig really hits the spot on a sunny day.

This naturally led us to hopping on a canal boat from Camden Lock which took us to Little Venice.

This was my first time on a Canal Boat and I'd highly recommend it.

    Sunday

Sunday was far more relaxed. A friend and I wondered around North London for 'AP and Beyond' where local artists opened up their homes so people could go in a look at their art. There were people performing music, drama, making crafts and exhibiting their art work and photographs for everyone. And it was all free!

Sadly, this was the only photo I managed to take. It was hung outside one of the artists' house.

After walking around for a few hours, I met up with another group of friends and had some really fantastic Korean food at Asadal which is right next to Holborn station. I have to say the food was amazing and really affordable too. We even had Korean BBQ which was inbuilt into the table. It was a great experience and I will be visiting this restaurant regularly.

This is my new favourite Korean joint here in London.

For dessert, I had a dinner surprise! My lovely friend had made me cupcakes for my birthday! It was a hummingbird chocolate cupcake recipe which tasted amazing. I am a huge fan of anything chocolate so needless to say I was smiling all evening.

I spent my actual birthday (Tuesday) with my family where we had more chocolatey goodness!

    Mmm.. yummy.

All in all, I had a fantastic birthday. I got to spent time with my friends and family and got to eat some amazing food in the process. What more could I ask for?
