Did you know, Southend is home to the longest pier in the WORLD?!
After catching the train from London to Southend-on-Sea, we were greeted by an amazing view of the sea. There's millions of arcades and it even has a theme park which is great fun for the family.
The pier is insanely long!
Of course, we had to throw in a game of crazy golf.
After a long day of walking, we decided to hop on the little train that goes all the way to the end of the pier. I think it's about a 30 minute journey You can walk along the pier if you wish, but I'd suggest doing that at the start of your day. By the time you've walked along the coast, you'd be too tired to walk any more.

Once you get to the end of the pier, there's a wonderful coffee shop waiting for tired legs. There's also some really cute benches.. like this!
All in all, it was a great day out and a wonderful break from the bustling life of London. I highly recommend a trip!
